The year 2020 hasn’t been kind to the planet. The Coronavirus outbreak caused a pandemic around the globe sending everyone into a panic. The continuous lockdowns and consistent spread of the COVID-19 virus resulted in a global frenzy. People turned to Google for help. Everyone in lockdown needed hope and a firm grip on reality to pull through these hard times.

Google’s annual report of 2020’s top search trends revealed some of the most searched keywords around the globe including the US. According to Google’s report, people asked ‘Why’ questions more than ever, surpassing all previous records. Top searches portray how everyone has been struggling to adapt to the ‘new normal’. As a subscriber of Spectrum internet plans, my search history was no different than most people. Since COVID-19 was on everyone’s mind, people around the world searched terms related to virtual activities, how to make…, how to do…, news on the pandemic, and so on.

People around the world were occupied with details on Coronavirus and the US Election results the most. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the top 5 searched keywords globally.

#4. The How to Search Trends 

Since stores had closed down for services that required close contact, people tried to do things by themselves. Here is how everyone used Google search to try something new.

People need help in doing many things by themselves that they previously never did on their own using this information, writers and content creators can help out.

With the coronavirus vaccines underway, things are supposed to get better. In the meantime, people are doing their best to cope with the new normalcy in life.
