CBD products are new in the market, people don’t know a lot about them. CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It is the second most active ingredient of cannabis (marijuana) and is extracted directly from the hemp plant. Women mostly buy CBD full spectrum oil during pregnancy as it helps in reducing anxiety and stress.
Let’s discuss it in the following:-
What are CBD Tinctures?
High CBD strains of hemp with almost 70% alcohol are used to make CBD tinctures. It helps to reduce pain and anxiety. CBD tinctures are easily absorbed when taken beneath the tongue. CBD tinctures are relatively safe to consume, but the only concern is that people choose to use them instead of proven treatment, which can be problematic.
Is CBD Tincture Completely Safe?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and many other medical groups are against CBD usage during pregnancy or breastfeeding as the impacts that the baby could have been still unknown. Women buy CBD full-spectrum oil or CBD tinctures for various reasons.
It helps them to sleep by reducing stress, anxiety, and pain. It even suppresses nausea. However, these advantages don’t make the usage of CBD tincture or oil safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
CBD Full Spectrum Oil
All kinds of natural chemicals, including different types of cannabinoids and terpenes found in hemp plants, make CBD full-spectrum oil. CBD full-spectrum oil keeps the skin healthy, reduces pain and stress, pain relief, and provides restful sleep.
Many companies sell CBD full-spectrum oil, which is not appropriately made as they don’t meet safety criteria. People should buy CBD full spectrum oil from companies who met the requirements, such as the following:-
A third party tested it by an ISO 17025- compliant lab.
They are made of hemp from the U.S.
It has 0.3% THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and not more as per the Certificate of Analysis (COA)
Difference between CBD Oil and CBD Tincture
CBD oil has cannabidiol in the form of oil, whereas CBD tincture contains alcohol. However, both have identical therapeutic properties and are used for the same purpose.
The CBD tincture can be mixed with any food or drink because it contains alcohol, whereas CBD oil can be used through the vape method.
Advantages and concerns of CBD products during pregnancy
CBD products undoubtedly make women feel comfortable during pregnancy from pain relief, reducing anxiety and sleeplessness, suppressing nausea, aches, and loss of appetite, cramps, and many other problems. Researchers and experts have not yet found any significant side impacts of CBD products but are unsure about the long term effects that the mother and her child may face.
Although few states are changing their laws and approving CBD products, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has always been against the consumption of any cannabidiol product during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The reason behind this is the research yet done is inadequate.
The FDA has approved only one CBD drug to treat rare forms of the syndrome in children. Thus, it can be concluded that consuming CBD products like CBD tincture or CBD oil is not beneficial for women during pregnancy to breastfeeding.
